If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I’m not going to get too shitty on this subject here but I’d like everyone’s thoughts on the new (somewhat) medium for wrestling fans. The YouTube video. Its seems like any fool (not calling out this guy) can sit his ass in front of the computer and give his thoughts on every conceivable wrestling topic. IE last nights Raw review, why TNA sucks, etc.

Illustrating my point is this guy. I only gave the video about 30 seconds. This guy can hardly stay awake.

These are pretty fucking pathetic for the most part. Yet on the grand scale, these are the most sane of the bunch. Now taking the cake are the wrestling fan shoot interviews. Yep, some little nerd similar to myself gets on his webcam and “shoots”. Now what the fuck can some kid in his mommy’s basement shoot about? I’m as delusional as the next guy but FYI pal, since you’re not in the business you can’t fucking shoot on anybody. Coming soon my Shoot on Obama… Getting wound up here… Here’s some dude and his pal Will “shooting” on TNA.

Calming down a bit, the power of the internet allows everyone their piece of the pie. But seriously, shoot videos?

More DDT Wackiness: Invisible Wrestler

ddt.gif

I love my DDT weirdo shit. First was the great ladder vs step ladder match. Next was the American Ballon making all of the ladies jealously. This time it’s a five star classic. Less than two minutes, this clip is fucking spectacular.

The combatants in the match are Zhao Yun Zilong, as he takes on the “Invisible Chinese” Misutero.

As you will be able to note in this clip, Misutero brings the pain with his awesome move set. He also has the “superstar look” that Vince loves. Expect to see Misutero in the WWE anytime soon.

Battlearts: Minoru Fujitia vs Ikuto Hidaka

battlearts_wrestling_japan.png

Battlearts is a shoot style promotion that is in-between the styles of the UWFi and mat based junior wrestling. There are no scoring points used, just submission or knockout based outcomes.

It was formed in 1996 and ran regularly from 1998 - 2002. The promotion is now officially closed, although they have been running matches at the “Indy Summit” and the occasional show here and there in 2007 & 2008.

In this match we have Minoru Fujitia vs an unknown that looks a lot like his longtime tag team partner Ikuto Hidaka.

Typically this shit is hard to find, even on the internet. I have a few tapes kicking around but I might role up and shell over the $$$ for a few DVD’s online.

I’m not going to get all star crazy as I have in the past. With no rating system in place, let’s say I “popped” a few times during the match and overall found it very enjoyable. How’s that for a stance?

Bas Rutten in GTA IV

bas_rutten_GTA_IV.png

We all remember Bas’ great street defense DVD. This is an awesome comedic take on it from Grand Theft Auto IV. To open the video:

Bas: “Hey go away or I’ll punch you in the frickin liver!”

This is something different.

Mexico’s Lucha Libra wrestling was the original inspiration for the World Wrestling Federation, now known as WWE.

Now, the latest trend in Mexico is a group of effeminate male wrestlers who belong to the group called “Exoticos.”

Mexican professional wrestler Maximo, who’s a member of Exoticos, is often spotted in a hot pink mohawk haircut with a matching leotard. He often pirouettes right before knocking down his opponent and then kisses them.

Maximo says that showing his soft side isn’t as easy as it seems.

He says “It’s kind of hard playing this part, no? Especially because the sport is about being tough, rude and violent. But as long as the public loves us, we’ll be there.”

Apparently the Exoticos have been around since the mid 1970s but are just now experiencing a revival in wrestling.

They are described as being strong characters, but yet sensitive guys.

Who would have ever thought that a group of grown men throwing themselves all over each other would ever be considered “gay”?
